Maintenance Engineer

The fenestration industry is extremely busy, and we have been fortunate enough to maintain a strong order book throughout the pandemic, allowing the company to avoid much of the disruption suffered in other industries/businesses.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer to join the maintenance team at Consort, reporting straight into the Operations Director.

This is a challenging position where no two days are the same. The successful candidate must have a sound background in working with pneumatic equipment, mechanical fitting, and tool setting. Experience in PLC’s and/or CNC programming would be very welcome. The role requires low voltage electrical competency and candidates must be able to demonstrate their capabilities with up to date relevant qualifications.

You will be required to carry out fault diagnosis and repairs to window manufacturing equipment, including such items as saws, corner cleaners, hardware fitting stations, welders etc, carry out preventative maintenance and provide assistance with PAT testing.

Whilst experience in maintaining equipment used in the window industry would be particularly useful, we very much welcome applicants from outside our sector who have the requisite electrical engineering qualifications that could be applied to our role. Training/support will be provided to gain familiarity with our equipment, but for safety reasons we reiterate that applicants MUST possess the necessary qualifications to safely operate in this position.

This is an EVENING SHIFT role, hours for which are 5 pm – 1.30 am, Monday to Friday. Flexibility is required to deal with or finish urgent machinery breakdowns and to assist with any joint maintenance team projects.
